Name: Moncton Monday November Featured Airport: VFR Visit
Description: In the nineth installment of our featured airports series, we will be staffing Moncton (CYQM), an we encourage you to fly VFR to and from the surrounding area.
The Greater Moncton Romeo LeBlanc International Airport is actually located in the city of Dieppe, 4 nm northeast of Moncton. It can support more than 674,000 passengers and 122,000 aircraft movements every year and is still growing. As with some of our other airports, Moncton is an airport of entry and Canadian Border Services can handle flights with up to 300 passengers but have handled some Boing 747s which can have up to 580 passengers. Moncton is home to Canada's largest flight school, the Moncton Flight College which can handle upwards of 450 students at a time between their two campuses.
This time arround we enocurage you to fly VFR to the various small airports in the surrounding area. VFR flying is a lot of fun and is very common in the Moncton area because of the flight college.
