  1. Position Vacancy: Edmonton FIR Webmaster The Edmonton FIR is currently seeking an individual with the necessary experience to help develop and maintain the FIR website. Reports to: CZEG Chief & Deputy Chief Responsible for: Developing and maintaining the FIR's official website Maintaining an online presence on the network, and in FIR Discord channels, VATCAN TeamSpeak and forum Frequently checking and responding to emails, as required Any other duties assigned by the FIR Chief, Deputy Chief, and/or Chief Instructor Minimum Requirements: Be an active member of the network, in good standing Be a member of CZEG, or be willing to transfer Hold an S2 rating or higher Experience with Object Oriented Programming (ex: C#, PHP, etc.) Must be proficient with HTML and CSS Experience with Laravel is considered an asset Experience working with databases (such as MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, etc.) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Willing to attend an interview Useful Skills and Experience: Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS and/or JavaScript Experience working with REST APIs Experience working with OAuth (preferably OAuth2) Experience working with Git Experience with the Laravel framework Experience working with BLADE templating Database experience How to Apply: Applications should be submitted to the CZEG FIR Chief (t.blanchette@vatcan.ca) and Deputy Chief (n.dean@vatcan.ca).   2. We are looking for professional, enthusiastic and innovative people to join our staff. A real team player, who represents the Toronto FIR, and shows our character to the world. Reporting to the FIR Chief and Deputy Chief, as well as VATCAN’s Executive Team if applicable. These positions will consist of communicating with Toronto's neighbouring FIRs, as well as working within the FIR, coming up with creative ideas to promote the Toronto FIR. POSITION: Toronto Events Coordinator and Assistant Events Coordinator REPORTS TO: Toronto FIR Chief, Deputy Chief & VATCAN Executive Team (if Applicable) RESPONSIBLE FOR: Handling of the Toronto FIR’s events, as well as (but not limited to) the following: – Undertaking public relations duties on behalf of the FIR by providing event news & press releases to social media and various flight simulation related entities. – Identifying and develops events to generate traffic and to promote the FIR. – Implementing and overseeing approved events. – Coordinating with neighboring FIRs & ARTCCs to arrange support for events. – Maintaining relationships with virtual airlines, coordinates support for VA hosted events operating in FIR airspace. – Working with the FIR Staff to provide support when necessary. – Additional duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The successful applicant should meet the following minimum standards: – Be a member of good standing in VATCAN for more than one year at the time of application. – Demonstrated ability to make and keep commitments. – Expectation of availability to attend all scheduled meetings for the duration of the meeting and engage daily in email and voice communications with other VATCAN executive members. – Real world credentials and experience in internet, social media, and print/radio/video production processes. – Be able to work effectively and build relationships within a volunteer organization.
