Hi All

The CIX VFR club (https://www.cixvfrclub.org.uk/) are holding a month long VFR trip across Canada, following the route of the Trans- Canadian railway.

Routing:

Leg 1 CYHZ to CYQM

Leg 2 CYQM to CYCL

Leg 3 CYCL to CYRI

Leg 4 CYRI to CYQB

Leg 5 CYQB to CYUL

Leg 6 CYUL to CYGK

Leg 7 CYGK to CNE2

Leg 8 CNE2 to CYEL

Leg 9 CYEL to CYHN

Leg 10 CYHN to CYYW

Leg 11 CYYW to CYHD

Leg 12 CYHD to CYPG

Leg 13 CYPG to CYQV

Leg 14 CYQV to CYQW

Leg 15 CYQW to CEZ3

Leg 16 CEZ3 to CYYC Calgary, where we shall spend Christmas Day

Leg 17 CYYC to CYGE

Leg 18 CYGE to CYRV

Leg 19 CYRV to CYKA

Leg 20 CYKA to CYVR

Hopefully you will see a multitude of light aircraft populating the skies of Canada for December,  a perfect chance for the S2 rated controllers to get that much needed VFR practise

We also recommend this as a perfect opportunity for practise of tower trainees

Any ATC will be welcomed

Best regards

Hi Neil.

Great idea, looks like a lot of fun!

Do you have an approximate schedule for the legs?  It would help with having ATC available if you do.

Thanks!

Sounds like a lot of fun!  Like Phil mentioned, Let us know the flight schedule and Moncton FIR will plan to the best of our abilities-to make sure the aerospace is covered.

Always great team welcoming this great to Canada!

Hi All,

As the majority of the pilots are European based,  I would imagine flights taking place between 1800z and 2300z

For the first few flight, there is a high probability that several pilots will join together and fly some of the legs as a group.

If this happens I will provide as much notice as possible

Regards

Neil

So this is not so much of an event with a date? More of a challenge for the CIX VFR Club to complete on their own time during the holidays?

Correct Jeff,  the pilots are given a route and a month to fly it in to get the club award.  They do a similar thing every December, last years was a trip around the Caribbean

I'm looking forward to this one as i have only flown in Moncton and Toronto,  I get to visit a lot more of the country

That sounds like a lot of fun Neil!

You can pass on to the club if they are flying through Moncton/Gander that they can request atc coverage at http://czqm.ca/RequestATC.aspx. We will do our best to have a controller available. We kindly ask for at least 12 hour notice.
