Good Afternoon,

Audio for VATSIM is scheduled to be released to all VATSIM member ahead of the Cross the Pond event on October 26, 2019. Ahead of the release, the Vatsim AFV beta team will conduct one last final test to mimic similar conditions that the network/pilots/controllers would experience during CTP. This test will be a very important to ensure that CTP will run smooth using the new voice codec.

In order to simulate a CTP-like environment, the AFV beta team will host a mini CTP event Sunday September 29, 2019.

HF (Oceanic) Testing Event (Mini CTP)

Sunday, 29th September 2019 from 0800z onwards

From: EFHK, ESSA and ENGM

To: CYQX, CYYZ and CYUL

Expect arrivals in Gander Airspace around 1000z

Controllers interested in participating should reach out to their FIR Events Coordinator or FIR Chief to express interest.

Controllers from CZYZ, CZUL, CZQM and CZQO will be given priority.

In order to participate, controllers are required to install AFV beta software ahead of the event. To use Euroscope with AFV, you will need to download and install the standalone client and the Euroscope Update with NoVVL Shortcut available at the below link. Then, open Euroscope via the shortcut in the beta download. In the connection window, set afv-beta-fsd.vatsim.net as the server and connect to it. It is essential that you use the shortcut provided otherwise you will interfere with the live network. Finally, run the standalone client you previously installed and log in using your VATSIM Account.
