POSITION OPENING: VATCAN Training Director

POSITION VACANCY: VATCAN Training Director, VATCAN3

REPORTS TO: VATCAN Division Director, VATCAN1

 

RESPONSIBLE FOR: The Training Director shall focus on all training operations within the  division, including (but not limited to):

 
- Creation, modification and upkeep of divisional training standard.

- Regular meetings with the FIR Chief Instructors to monitor training standards and assist as necessary.

- Working with VATCAN's executive team to update on training initiatives.

- Maintaining a constant presence to assist VATCAN controllers and pilots.

- Keeping a regular contact with all VATCAN staff, as well as other contacts if necessary.

- Any other duties as assigned by the Division Director.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The successful applicant should meet the following minimum standards:

 

- A familiarity with VATCAN's general operations, as well as general pilot operations and regulations is considered an asset.

- Minimum of I1 rating, and be in good standing within the VATSIM Network.

- A commitment to maintain a strong online presence throughout their appointment, including keeping a constant eye on e-mails and messages online.

- Managing multiple tasks at once, as well as focus on specific tasks if needed, as well as past experience in a training staff role.

- Certify in all Canadian FIRs with a view to act as "visiting instructor" when needed.

- The ability to communicate clearly and professionally through various mediums to people of different experience levels and cultures throughout VATCAN.  English is a must, French is an asset but not required.
